How to Fold Crepe Paper
Crepe paper is used to decorate for any and all holidays. It comes in a variety of colors, sizes and styles. Usually it is purchased in large rolls that are not completely used for one occasion. If you want to reuse the crepe paper in the future, it is important to know how to fold it back onto the roll so it will appear just as fresh and festive the next celebration.
1го Take the leftover crepe paper that is still intact and defect-free after a celebration. Take each strip down and lay out in a straight line, smoothing it out as much as you can. If the pieces of crepe paper have tape on them, fold the tape down over the paper to make sure it doesn't stick to anything. You can choose to cut off the edge of sticky tape as well.
2го Secure the strips of crepe paper together at the ends with a piece of clear Scotch tape if there are numerous short pieces, such as pieces shorter than 4 feet. If there are just long strips, do not worry about securing them together yet.
3го Start at the edge of one of the pieces of crepe paper. Take the edge between your fingers and fold it into an inch-long piece on top of the crepe paper strip. Repeat this procedure and fold that folded inch over into another folded inch. Repeat this procedure until you have a stack of crepe paper 1/2 an inch thick.
4го Use your finger tips to carefully and evenly roll the crepe paper up like you would roll up a towel. Once you come to the end of one strip of crepe paper, use a small piece of clear Scotch tape and place the tape in the middle of the end edge. Take the next strip of crepe paper in the pile and attach it to this tape, lining up the edges of the crepe paper evenly.
5го Continue to roll up the crepe paper until it is in smooth, even roll of paper that resembles a circle or oval. Secure the last end edge with a small piece of tape, so it will not flap up and unravel.
*Store the reusable crepe paper in a cool, dry place.
